Very nice. I like the way black Death is contrasted against the ivory-ish maiden. The amount of detail, and the fantasy-like fusion between Eastern and Classical references remind me of Gustav Moreau. He did a painting of Salome which can be found here: [link] I'm a big fan of temples and mythological subjects.

Love it. Seen the photograph you had linked and referenced. Elna Borch, the statue sculptor, seems to be not known. No information on her on the net. Good work. Though it seems like you got the hand on the end of the blade reversed. The thumb should be on the other side not the pinky side.

You know what this reminds me of? If you have ever seen the movie Interview With the Vampire, there is a scene, in which there is a play where "death" overtakes a young girl.
This is a glorious piece of art.

I've seen this sculpture thousands of times, - and it's my favourite in there! (I live in DK, - so i recognized your drawing at once!!!)...
When seeing it in real life it's just as if... well... I think it's undescibable, but it's just very intense...
You made a very good piece out of it!!!!! Weird and very cool to see it with colour!!!!!

An insane level of detail (I dunno how people can do backgrounds to *anything* I utterly lose interest in them altogether!), yet it manages to remain incredibly graceful, very well balanced and quite beautiful! ^_^
